Attorney & Founder
Since 1976, Joseph J. Wantland has dedicated his legal career to helping Bullitt Countians deal with real issues that affect them every day. For generations, Joe has helped people with life as it happens – divorce, bankruptcy, personal injury, and criminal problems. Joe has represented literally thousands of people in divorces.
Joe, “Pop” is the founder of the Wantland Law practice. Joe is easing into retirement and enjoys traveling the world, taking French lessons, and visiting France twice a year.
We are proud to introduce Monica Shahayda as the newest attorney to Wantland Law, PLLC. Monica joined the firm in March 2019 and is busy expanding her Family Law practice. Her previous work history has made her a highly experienced family law attorney. Monica has the ability to listen to her clients to determine the best strategy to meet their goals. She is a very effective advocate for her clients.
Monica has extensive experience in:
Child custody – Legal decision-making
Adoptions, and many more family based legal situations.
In addition to her Family Law experience, Monica also handles juvenile matters.
Monica is a graduate of the University of Louisville and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and has worked in the legal field for 16 years. Prior to entering private practice, Monica served as an Assistant Bullitt County Attorney and as a Bullitt Family Court Staff Attorney. She enjoys sailing, reading, road trips, and banana milkshakes.
Ms. Evangelista has a degree in Paralegal and Litigation Technologies. Kaitlyn has significant experience in assisting with demand letters, complaints, motions and other pleadings at the outset of the case. She also excels at client relations, and has extensive experience with document management using Clio.
Kaitlyn is a movie buff and has a weakness for cheesecake. Please help us welcome Kaitlyn to the family. We are beyond thrilled that she is on board!
Client Relations Specialist
Terry is a client relations specialist and a new addition to Wantland Law, PLLC. He is a professional Notary Public, and his responsibilities include, client communication, assisting Attorneys and clients with preparation and finalization of personal injury cases, and bringing fun and laughter into the office!
Clients who work with Shawn appreciate her warm and gracious demeanor, and the fact that she always goes the extra mile.
In addition to her responsibilities as office manager, Shawn spearheads Wantland Law’s marketing efforts.
